Yet another exercise. The fact that this is fanart of Rin spared me from drawing hands, but as I figured out: Feet are difficult enough. I'm not happy with the result.
The clothing on the other hand (haha) turned out decent. Especially the shirt.
No background this time.

I love Trigun. Great Show, great Intro. So I redrew the second shot from it in wallpaper size (in case anyone dares to use it as such, I use my drawings as backgrounds to motivate myself to get better).
Qualitywise it's a mess, but I honestly wanted to finish this quickly. More as an exercise for myself than artistic endeavors.
I like how I could get decent looking rocks and framework with this quite simple technique. What I couldn't get to work is the hair in color as well as shape of it... better luck next time.

And now some landscape art. I'm a little proud of the woodwork an the water, but also the colors are more balanced.
I used to want to have it a more sci-fi like theme, overgrown technical plants and such, but it would have been overkill to go more into detail at my current level and add like pipes and machine-parts everywhere. Might have taken until summer at my working speed in the last two months.
But im back at last so my audience of one person can enjoy it. I hope you like how it turned out (:

So, i used the free day to finish this drawing of mine.
It was a really quick design-process and so it turned into a little bit of a mess. But it shows me where i am with my current talent. I really like how the pages of the open book turned out, but otherwise the lighting is rather boring. Must be a cloudy day outside. I am also not quite happy with the colors, I used a bit of everything without any plan. Also: Again, no human characters. But I will dare into anatomy soon, at least I hope I will.
While i was drawing i came up with a little background lore to this otherwise unconnected piece. In this world magic is something that has to be hidden, arcane as in the title. The open book itself has magic properties, as in that its contents are not fixed. It rewrites itself and will always present new secrets and instruction to the reader. There exist different kinds of these books and they are highly priced at secret markets. They can be replicated by immense handwork, as one person can create an new one by copying ALL pages from one magic book onto paper in one sitting. If this is done without mistakes (with roughly 500 pages I remind you) and the pages are bound into a finished book, this new book as well will now have the rewriting property, although its gained 'type' of arcane knowledge is randomly given.

One of my first drawings using a tablet. And also one of my first works that i believe to be somewhat presentable. It's obviously easier if you don't have to regard anatomy for what you're drawing.
But what is this thing? Some sort of amalgamation of multiple people, merged whit some bizarre organism? There are some smaller creatures crawling inside...
EDIT 2025-12-26:
One can't really go further back than this, because it is the first drawing I ever posted online.
It's hardly a pretty motive, but this was also long before I had any clear idea what exactly I wanted to do with drawing. The ideas I eventually got, would also change over time, again and again.
I'm a megalomanic at heart. So I always dream of absurdly large mountains to climb. The pursuit of drawing was an especially large one. And compared to my other ambitions, one were you can easily compare yourself to others, and get demotivated because of it. The difference in skill can be very wide and obvious.
But now, many year later, I'm at it again. More diligent than ever before. Maybe I can make my original dream a reality one day. The dream that back in 2015(?) put me on this very path in the first place.
